Find Balance During the Holidays

It's that time again. It's almost the grand holiday season. I don't know about you, however, I'm always a little glad when it's over. Of course, that means I'm closer to my tropical vacation.

So I just thought I'd share some things that help me through the season. First and foremost, I don't try to be everywhere everyone wants me to be. I choose the places and events that interest me the most. People will understand and probably be a little bit envious that you've chosen that experience.

Secondly, I don't buy for every Tom, Dick, or Sally. Most people I know buy things they want, and I can't possibly be expected to buy that large screen tv for my friend, can I? Gone are the days of buying just to buy something. Though I'm not much of a crafty sort of gal, I have been known to make some gifts out of forest material. Okay, so they threw it away the moment I turned around. It IS the thought that counts, and the love that went into it.

I don't have children, but I do remember enjoying the box the gift came in much more than the gift. Something to think about Mom and Dad. Keeping up with the Jones' is still impossible. Plus, the kids will learn when they get older that they can't always get what they want the moment they want it. Manifestation can take a bit of time.

And lastly, I spend time in meditation. I love to feel my breath in and out of my body. It reminds me how alive I am. It brings me back to who I am and what is really important. Loving each other, and accepting ourselves and others, warts and all, that's a true gift to give others and mostly ourselves.

If you are in the area, I am offering meditation classes starting November 5th.

Happy Holidays and Many Blessings!

Nancy

Yes, Nancy, holidays are about appreciating each other and life. Another gift idea is to offer your time or a service to someone special, such as doing a favor of their choosing.
